Kerry Halupka

Kerry Halupka, PhD, is a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Canva, where they lead innovative projects at the intersection of AI and design. Previously, they served as the Head of Machine Learning for Teams and Education at Canva and led the Machine Learning team at the Victorian Centre for Data Insights, collaborating on complex governmental data challenges. Kerry’s experience includes a postdoctoral research role at IBM and extensive work in academia, culminating in a PhD focused on enhancing retinal prosthetic technology. They are also a published author with multiple peer-reviewed articles and patents in machine learning and engineering.
