Rafael Del Rey is a highly experienced Principal Machine Learning Engineer currently at Zscaler since August 2025. Previously, Rafael held the position of Principal Data Scientist at Red Canary, focusing on enhancing the Threat Detection Engine through advanced deep learning and machine learning techniques. Rafael's career includes a role as Principal Data Scientist at BMC Software, where innovative systems for optimizing computer workflows were developed. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Gupy, Rafael created significant Portuguese language models and advanced systems for job applicant matching. Furthermore, as CEO and Founder of Symbios Technology and Chief Data Science Officer at imMail, Rafael defined AI strategies and developed machine learning models for compliance detection. Rafael began a career in technology at GAS Tecnologia, evolving from a freelance programmer to Chief Technology Officer, laying the foundation for a prominent cybersecurity division.
