Ben Metzger

Ben Metzger has diverse work experience in the financial and legal sectors. Ben is currently serving as the VP of Strategy at Canvas Credit Union since May 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as the AVP & Associate General Counsel at the same company from February 2021 to May 2022. Before joining Canvas Credit Union, they worked as a Staff Attorney from September 2016 to February 2021. Apart from their experience in the credit union, Ben also worked as an Examiner at the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies from November 2015 to September 2016. Ben gained legal experience as a Legal Intern at Colorado Legal Services in May 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Summer Associate at English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley in 2013. Earlier in their career, Ben served as an Enterprise Risk Management Coordinator at Canvas Credit Union from June 2011 to June 2012. Ben also had a stint at Citi, where they worked as a Senior Compliance Analyst from July 2010 to June 2011 and as a BSA Compliance Analyst from June 2009 to July 2010. Ben's extensive experience includes an internship at The White House in summer 2008.

Ben Metzger has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, which they obtained from 2012 to 2015. In 2019, they began pursuing a degree in Western CUNA Management School at Pomona College, which is expected to be completed in 2023. Prior to their law degree, Ben obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Florida College from 2006 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained a certification as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) from ACAMS in April 2016.
