Emily Essig has held numerous positions in the entertainment and tech industries since 2010. In 2010, they interned for the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust, performing administrative and marketing tasks. In 2011, they interned for Light Opera Works, providing box office and customer support. Emily also was a Festival Coordinator for the New Diorama Theatre in 2012. In 2012, they interned for Scorpio Entertainment, managing investor lists and preparing data for financial projections. In 2013, they became the Associate and Creator/Director of Late Night Programming at Feinstein's/54 Below, where they created the "Late Night at 54 Below" series and generated more than $1,000,000 in sales. From 2015 to 2019, they held various roles at The Peoples Improv Theater, including Director of Corporate Partnerships and Director of Operations. In 2017, they became a Student Consultant for the University of Denver, working closely with partner clients to define project scope and key issues. Finally, in 2019, they became a Product Manager, Product Designer, and Language Analyst at Canvs AI, designing and managing market research tools, building roadmaps, and collaborating cross-functionally. Additionally, they co-founded Riff Consulting in 2019, curating team building and professional development workshops.

Emily Essig attended Visitation Academy from 2002 to 2008. Emily then went on to The University of Tulsa, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Arts Management and Musical Theatre in 2012. In 2017, they began their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business, graduating in 2019 with a focus in Marketing.
