Elana Whelan

Elana Whalen is the Director of Human Resources at Cape Breton University. Elana has over fifteen years of experience working in human resources and has held senior positions at both Western University and Brescia University College.

Elana is a highly skilled human resources professional with a deep understanding of all aspects of the field. Elana is an expert in employee relations and has a proven track record of resolving complex issues.

Elana is a strong leader and an excellent communicator. Elana is passionate about their work and is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of their employees.

Elana Whalen's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Western University, a Labour Relations Certificate from Queen's University, and a 3-year Diploma in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from Seneca College. Elana also has certification from the HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association in CHRL and CPHR Nova Scotia in CPHR.

Elana Whalen reports to David C. Dingwall, President & Vice, Chancellor. They work with Sara Burke - VP, Development, Rebecca Chisholm - AVP, University Relations, and Richard MacKinnon - VP, Academic & Provost.
