Kathleen M. Vranos

VP of Academic & Student Affairs at Cape Cod Community College

Dr. Kathleen M. Vranos serves as the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs for Cape Cod Community College after previously serving as Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Adult Education for nearly two years. Most recently, Kathleen served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Dean College, a small, private, baccalaureate -degree granting institution in Franklin, Massachusetts. She also brings fifteen years of higher education experience from Greenfield Community College, where she served as an academic dean, department chair, and tenured professor of business. Kathleen has been a visiting accreditation team member for the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). She also has extensive experience overseeing assessment, program-level accreditation, new program development, institutional strategic planning, and application of educational technologies and professional development to support new instructional modalities. Kathleen’s passion for advancing social and environmental justice by creating accessible, transformational, educational experiences for all students has found its deepest fulfillment in the community college sector.

Dr. Vranos earned her doctorate in education with a higher education administration concentration from Northeastern University in 2019. Inspired by the faculty’s innovative work advancing student success at Cape Cod Community College, her dissertation focused on academic leadership that supported faculty innovation that advanced student success at scale. Kathleen also holds a Master of Science in Advertising from Northwestern University and a baccalaureate degree in English/Communications from Boston College. Prior to launching her career in higher education, Kathleen served as a marketing communications/strategic planning manager in the private sector. As a resident of Cape Cod, Kathleen is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to building a powerful future for the community.
