Dana Coston

Captain at Cape Coral Police Department

Captain Dana Coston began his career with the Cape Coral Police Department in 2000. He is currently the Captain of the Professional Standards Bureau and oversees Internal Affairs, Personnel and Training, and Accreditation. Prior to his selection as the Captain of Professional Standards Bureau, he was a Lieutenant of the Patrol Bureau overseeing a Platoon. Captain Coston has also supervised the School Resource Officer Program, Community Outreach Projects, and the District Resource Officers. Captain Coston has served as the Public Affairs Officer, School Resource Officer, Detective assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and a Patrol Sergeant. Captain Coston earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Emory University. He is also a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) Senior Management Institute for Police.
