Matt O'Connell

Matt O'Connell is an experienced executive and entrepreneur with a robust background in technology and telecommunications. Currently serving as Operating Partner at DCVC since May 2020, O'Connell supports entrepreneurs leveraging Deep Tech to address significant global challenges. As Executive Chairman of Capella Space, Matt leads a company focused on radar satellites and SAR data provision for the US Government and allies. O'Connell is also a Board Member for Fortem Technologies and Jupiter Intelligence, contributing to innovations in drone technology and environmental data for various sectors. Previously, O'Connell held prominent positions including Managing Partner at Seraphim Capital, CEO of OneWeb, and Founder and CEO of GeoEye. O'Connell's extensive education includes a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from Trinity College-Hartford.
