Brent Powell

Brent Powell, PhD, LPC, currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Counselor Education at Capella University and as a Licensed Professional Counselor at The Wellness Center of Oxford, providing mental health counseling services. Additionally, Brent holds a position as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Mississippi. With a comprehensive background in academia and clinical practice, Brent has previously worked as a Counselor/Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi and held faculty roles at Delta State University. Earlier experience includes positions at the Oxford Treatment Center, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services, and Seton Healthcare Family. Brent earned a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Mississippi, along with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and a Master of Arts Administration in Sports Management from the University of the Incarnate Word. Brent also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Harding University.
