Adam Mahoney

Adam Mahoney is a National Climate and Environment Reporter at Capital B, where engagement in climate issues is emphasized since April 2022. Mahoney has pursued various fellowships, including the Energy Journalism Fellowship at Columbia University and the Mellon Environmental Justice Journalism Fellowship at Wake Forest University, both in 2024. Prior experience includes roles at Grist as a reporter focusing on environmental justice and investigations and positions in investigative journalism with organizations like ProPublica and Injustice Watch. Mahoney's early research involvement as the lead investigator for the Kakira Outgrowers Rural Development Fund in Uganda led to the development of sanitation bylaws. Adam Mahoney holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Sociology from Northwestern University and has additional education in social change and development.
