Carlos M. Fernandez Cordero

Carlos M. Fernandez Cordero has extensive work experience in the field of compliance and regulatory affairs. Carlos M. began their career as an Attorney at Collazo, Concepción & Collazo in 2008 and worked there until 2016. Carlos M. then joined Delta Dental of Puerto Rico as Vice President, where they oversaw the company's operational business units and ensured compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

In 2020, Carlos joined Dominion National as Director of Corporate and Medicare Compliance, and later became the Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. In 2023, they were promoted to Senior Director and then Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs at Dominion National.

Currently, Carlos is working at Capital Blue Cross as the Corporate Compliance Officer and will become the Vice President of Compliance in November 2023.

Throughout their career, Carlos has demonstrated their expertise in managing legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Carlos M. Fernandez Cordero completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras in 2005. Carlos M. then went on to earn their Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2008. Carlos has also obtained the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification from the Compliance Certification Board (CCB), SCCE & HCCA in January 2019. Carlos M. is also certified as an Attorney at Law for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Carlos has additional certifications in Project Management Foundations and Project Management: Healthcare Projects from LinkedIn.
