Thomas Mathews serves as the Head of Markets for Asia Pacific at Capital Economics since 2020, having previously held roles as Markets Economist and Senior Markets Economist within the same organization. Prior to this position, Thomas worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia from 2014 to 2019 as a Senior Analyst, contributing to the Domestic Markets, International, and Economic departments. Thomas's early experience includes a summer internship at New Zealand Treasury in late 2010. Thomas holds an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from the University of Sydney, and a combined BCA/BA degree in Economics, Mathematics, and Philosophy from Victoria University of Wellington.
