Teddy Kivuvani Muthusi

Teddy Kivuvani Muthusi has an extensive work experience in the creative advertising industry. Teddy started their career as a Copywriter at Ogilvy in 1997 before becoming a Breakfast Show Radio Presenter at Nation FM, Capital FM, and Hot 96 FM in 2000. Teddy then joined Scanad Africa as a Creative Director - Copy from 2001 to 2009.

Afterward, Teddy worked as an Independent Advertising Creative Director, consulting with Kenyan and Ugandan advertising agencies such as Redsky Ltd Kenya, Access Leo Burnett Kenya, and Fireworks Advertising Uganda. Teddy also served as a Creative Manager - Radio at Nation Media Group from 2011 to 2013, where they led the conceptualization of radio spots and activations.

Teddy then joined Scanad Africa again in 2013, this time as a Creative Head until 2022. During their time there, they developed highly successful 360 advertising campaigns for various industries including telco, finance, insurance, government, retail, alcoholic drinks, and automotive.

Additionally, Teddy served as a Board Member at the Kenya Cultural Centre Incorporating the Kenya National Theatre from 2015 to 2022. Teddy is currently working as the Head of Creative at Capital FM Kenya since 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Creative Director at Yaani Creative Limited from 2022 until present, where they utilized local knowledge and insights to create outstanding communication through film, video, visuals, brand storytelling, and radio.

Teddy Kivuvani Muthusi pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from United States International University - Africa. Teddy attended the university from 1993 to 1996. In 2012, Teddy participated in the Cannes Creative Leaders Program at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. Apart from their formal education, Teddy also obtained additional certifications. In October 2015, they became an Associate Member of the Marketing Society of Kenya, and in December 2022, they completed the fundamentals of digital marketing certification offered by Google.
