Melody Pender

Melody Pender is a seasoned Executive Director currently leading Southern Gulf Islands Neighbourhood House Society and SGI Community Resource Centre Society since 2022 and 2016, respectively. With extensive experience in administration, bookkeeping, and human resources, Melody has also operated as a self-employed professional providing services in office management and data entry since 2015. Additional roles include Bookkeeper for Southern Gulf Islands Library Commission and Executive Assistant to the Electoral Area Director at Capital Regional District, fostering communication with local committees and corporate staff. Prior work experience encompasses roles as Administrator at Pender Island Chamber of Commerce and Service Provider at Weight Watchers Canada, as well as Human Resources Manager at Poets Cove Resort & Spa and Manning Park Resort, where recruitment and training were key responsibilities. Melody holds a Management Certificate in Human Resources and Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has completed secondary education at North Surrey Senior Secondary.
