Paul Chodak III is a Trustee at Capital University. Paul has over 16 years of experience in the energy industry, serving as the President and Chief Operating Officer for both Indiana Michigan Power and Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO).
At Indiana Michigan Power, Paul was responsible for the company's safety, financial and operational performance, including strategic planning and capital allocation. Paul also conceived and led a $1.2B investment strategy required by the relicensing of nuclear assets.
At SWEPCO, Paul had responsibility for distribution operations and a wide range of customer and regulatory relationships. Paul led the acquisition of a neighboring utility that doubled SWEPCO’s LA footprint and was immediately accretive to earnings. Paul also spearheaded an effort that broke through a state and federal permitting log jam for a $1.3B power plant.
Paul Chodak III has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MS in Environmental Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Insitute and State University - Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management, and a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Paul also has an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
