Energy Management Engineer at Capital Power

Aman Tiwari has diverse work experience in the energy and manufacturing sectors. In 2015, they worked as a Summer Trainee at United Breweries Ltd., where they gained knowledge about beer manufacturing processes and developed strategies for reducing dust hazards. In 2016, they served as a Summer Intern at the Indian Institute of Petroleum, where they focused on propane and propylene separation using adsorptive methods. At Reliance Industries Limited, they held two positions: Project Control Coordinator in 2018, where they managed work permits, collaborated with departments, and supervised contract workers, and Field Engineer from 2017 to 2018, where they ensured the smooth operation of the process plant and coordinated with a team of engineers. Most recently, they worked as a Municipal Energy Coordinator at Brazeau County from 2021 to 2023, supporting GHG reduction efforts and managing energy consumption patterns for county-owned buildings. Currently, they hold the position of Energy Management Engineer at Capital Power, starting in 2023.

Aman Tiwari began their education journey in 2011 at Saraswati Modern School, where they completed their secondary education. Aman then pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Chemical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, graduating in 2017. Aman continued their education by completing a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Alberta from 2019 to 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Aman has also obtained several certifications. In January 2019, they received certification in Standard First Aid and CPR from Lifesaving Society Ontario. Aman further enhanced their expertise by acquiring the Construction Safety Training System certification from the Alberta Construction Safety Association in March 2019.

Aman's commitment to energy management is reflected by their certifications in the field. In May 2020, they earned the LEED Green Associate certification from the Green Business Certification, Inc. Aman also completed the Energy Efficiency Indicators: Fundamentals on Statistics course offered by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in the same month. Additionally, Aman gained knowledge in Ontario's Mandatory Energy Benchmarking for Large Buildings through a certification from the Canada Green Building Council - CaGBC.

To strengthen their professional credentials, Aman became an Engineer in Training in October 2020, accredited by The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Aman then expanded their safety training by receiving certifications in Confined Space Pre Entry, Hydrogen Sulfide, and WHMIS from Worksite Safety in March 2021. Aman continued to enhance their expertise in energy management by obtaining the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers in March 2023.
