Paul Dews, MSc has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Starting in 1990, they worked as a Design Engineer at DePuy International Ltd where they designed custom orthopaedic implants and managed prototype manufacturing. From 1995 to 2000, they worked at 3M Electronic Products as a BioEngineer and Quality Manager, managing customer quality issues and developing quality documentation.

In 2000, they became the Manager of Engineering and Projects at Toxcon HSRC, overseeing engineering functions and conducting studies on dermal transfer and inhalation properties of test products. In 2002, they joined Nucryst Pharmaceuticals as the Director of Product Development, expanding the department's capabilities and successfully launching products.

Paul joined Capital Power Corporation in 2008, initially as a Project Development Manager, then as a Business Development Manager, responsible for developing new business opportunities in Western Canada. Paul later became the Commercial Manager, overseeing the commercial operations of 5 generation facilities, managing joint venture relationships, and developing budgets and long-term plans.

In 2016, Paul joined NAIT as the Manager of Innovation Support Services, providing support for innovation initiatives. Finally, in 2018, Paul returned to Capital Power as the Senior Manager of Operations, where they currently hold the position.

Paul Dews, MSc has a strong educational background in engineering and machine design. Paul first attended The University of Huddersfield from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering. Building upon this foundation, they then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Computer Aided Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies in 1993. In order to further specialize in their field, Paul decided to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree at the University of Leeds. From 1993 to 1995, their studies focused on tribology in machine design.
