Susan Podmore is an experienced clinical research professional with a strong background in managing clinical trials and providing training in pharmacovigilance and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Since February 2019, Susan has served as a Contract Clinical Trial Manager at Medicines for Malaria Venture, while also holding positions as an External Monitor at CAPRISA and a Contract Clinical Research Associate at Dokumeds since July 2021 and October 2020, respectively. Previous roles include Clinical Research Consultant at Monopar Therapeutics Inc. and Contract Senior Clinical Research Associate at PowerVision, Inc. Susan's earlier career includes facilitating GCP training at Academic Advance and the National Department of Health Pharmacovigilance Centre, and engaging in business development activities at Triclinium Clinical Development. Susan holds a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacology from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine and a Diploma in Pharmacy from Natal Technikon.

CAPRISA
The Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA) is a designated UNAIDS Collaborating Centre for HIV Prevention Research. The main goal of CAPRISA is to undertake globally relevant and locally responsive research that contributes to understanding HIV pathogenesis, prevention and epidemiology as well as the links between tuberculosis and AIDS care. CAPRISA provides a unique opportunity to network with global leaders in the field of HIV and TB to remain abreast of the latest scientific and research trends. CAPRISA was created in 2001 and formally established in 2002 under the NIH-funded Comprehensive International Program of Research on AIDS (CIPRA) by five partner institutions being the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Cape Town, University of Western Cape, National Institute for Communicable Diseases, and Columbia University in New York. CAPRISA conducts research in four main Scientific Programmes namely: HIV Pathogenesis and Vaccines, HIV and TB treatment, Microbicides, and Prevention and Epidemiology.
