David Chung-Ta Lee has extensive experience in ASIC design, starting with their role as ASIC Design Manager at Divio Inc from 1999 to 2003. During this time, they led a team to develop an ARM9-based MPEG-1/2/4 codec chip for solid-state drive camcorder applications. David Chung-Ta supervised the compression engine integration, synthesis, and FPGA prototyping, as well as coordinated software driver development efforts. From 2003 to 2006, they worked at ESS Technology as the ASIC Design Manager, where they designed a motion estimation and compensation module for MPEG 1/2/4 codec chip in DVD recorder/DVR applications. David Chung-Ta also designed a motion-adaptive deinterlacer and mixer for HDTV (up to 1080p) application. Finally, from 2006 to present, they have been the Director of ASIC at CapsoVision, Inc. where they designed a controller chip for capsule endoscopy including a microcontroller, flash memory controller, and compression engine. David Chung-Ta developed the FPGA prototype in Xilinx platform and the firmware in C, and worked with a backend service company to bring the chip to production.
David Chung-Ta Lee attended National Taiwan University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. David Chung-Ta then went on to Stanford University from 1997 to 1998, where they received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
