Sergii Ivakhno

Sergii Ivakhno has a strong background in machine learning and data analysis. Sergii is currently working as an Engineering Manager and ML Tech Lead at Captify® where they established a new team and a revenue-generating product line focused on image/text classification for digital TV media. Sergii evaluated vendors and introduced a tech stack centered on Databricks, improving MVP delivery speed. Sergii has also developed and implemented models for text classification, semantic search, and image transcription.

Prior to their current role, Sergii worked as a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at KidsLoop Co., Ltd. and as a Master ML Software Engineer at Hitachi Vantara. At KidsLoop, they worked on machine learning projects, and at Hitachi Vantara, they developed a machine learning SDK and created advanced ML pipelines based on deep learning architectures.

Sergii has also held positions as a Lead Machine Learning Specialist at Headstart, where they established teams and best practices for ML projects, and as a Machine Learning Engineer at Lifebit, where they developed an AWS-based cloud platform for cost optimization of clinical workflows.

Earlier in their career, Sergii worked as a Data Scientist at Illumina, where they contributed to various projects involving data mining and healthcare analyses. Sergii also worked as an Industry Intern at Illumina and completed internships at Wellcome Sanger Institute and MIT School of Engineering.

Sergii Ivakhno completed a PhD from the University of Cambridge from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh from 2005 to 2007.
