Philip Mugo

Philip Mugo has a diverse range of work experience in the manufacturing and production industry. Philip started their career as a Production Team Leader at Bake 'n' Bite Ltd in 2001. Philip then moved on to Soy Afric in 2004, where they held the role of Production Manager, focusing on cost-effective production and establishing quality standards. In 2007, Philip joined Unga Group Ltd as a Production Manager, responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes while ensuring efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. At Innscor Kenya Limited, where they worked from 2013 to 2017, Philip served as a Factory Manager, overseeing production schedules, resource allocation, and budgeting. Following that, they joined Sunkist Bakers & Millers Ltd in 2017 as the Factory Manager for Mills & Bakery. Currently, Philip is the Head of Manufacturing/ Operations at Capwell Industries Ltd, where they oversee milling activities, grain processes, and the staff for all plants.

Philip Mugo has a diverse education history spanning several years. In 1997, they enrolled in Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology and obtained a BSc. in Food Technology in 2000. After their undergraduate studies, Philip attended various training programs and received certifications in different fields. In 2011, they completed a course on ISO 9000 Quality Management System at Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). In the following year, Philip underwent training on ISO 17025: Laboratory Standards at Kenya Bureau of Standards. In 2012, they further studied Hoshin Kanri Performance Management System at RIB Consulting and achieved certifications from Kenya Bureau of Standards in ISO 22000: 2005 Food Safety Management Systems.

In 2013, Philip attended training programs at Kaizen Institute and obtained a certificate as a Kaizen Practitioner in areas such as 5S+S, TFM, TPM, TQM & 6-Sigma, SHE & TWI. The same year, they pursued Coaching & Mentoring for Managers at Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC). The following year, in 2014, Philip completed a course on Coaching & Mentoring for Managers at the same institution.

In 2015, Philip focused on certificates related to Intermediate & Advanced Flour Milling from UK Flour Millers. Their education with UK Flour Millers continued in 2016 when they received a certificate in Enterprise Resource Planning from SAP. Additionally, in the same year, Philip completed a certificate in Advanced Milling Technology from the African Milling School.

Philip Mugo's education journey showcases a continuous commitment to professional development and acquiring specialized knowledge in diverse areas related to manufacturing, food technology, management systems, and coaching. As of 2022, they have also obtained a certification in Manufacturing Strategy from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
