Martin Vogelbaum

Chairman at Cara Therapeutics

Mr. Vogelbaum has served as a member of the Board since July 2010 and has been the Chairman of the Board since June 2022. He currently serves as Managing Partner of Inning One Ventures, an early-stage life sciences venture capital firm. He also serves as CEO of Ajax Therapeutics, a private oncology company. Previously, Mr. Vogelbaum served as Corporate Vice President, Business Development at Celgene Corporation (now Bristol Myers) from 2015 to 2017.

Prior to joining Celgene, Mr. Vogelbaum served as a partner of Rho Ventures from 2005 until 2015, where he focused on investments in biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals and medical devices. He has more than 27 years of investment experience in the life sciences sector, having been involved with companies at all stages of development, including co-founding multiple companies. Prior to his venture capital career, he was a research associate in the bone marrow transplantation unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, where he conducted research in graft-versus-host-disease (“GVHD”). He currently serves on the Healthcare Advisory Board for the Partnership Fund for New York City as well as the External Advisory Board for the Office of Therapeutic Alliances at NYU Langone. Mr. Vogelbaum received his A.B. in biology and history from Columbia University.
