Senior Research Associate at Carbon Biosciences

Brooke DeSimone has a diverse work experience. Brooke started their career as a Lab Assistant Intern at CuriRx, Inc in July 2020, where they worked on the preclinical development of a pediatric drug and performed various tasks such as optimizing formulations, performing dissolution, and analyzing HPLC data. Brooke also contributed to pre-formulation characterization of protein samples and maintained lab notebooks.

In 2021, Brooke joined Sanofi as a Biologics Drug Product Development Intern, where they worked on developing drug products. Brooke completed their internship successfully in September 2021.

Simultaneously, Brooke also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from January 2021 to May 2022. During this role, they gained experience in research and provided assistance in various projects.

In June 2022, Brooke took on a role as a Sales Floor Team Member at Target, where they worked until September 2022. Brooke then continued their work at Target and became a Senior Research Associate at Carbon Biosciences starting in June 2023.

At the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Brooke also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September 2022 to May 2023. During this role, they provided teaching assistance to students.

In addition, Brooke held the position of Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from June 2022 to May 2023. In this role, they independently developed an HPLC method to measure Pentosidine in human bone specimens and conducted experiments to measure gene expression in osteocyte cells.

Brooke DeSimone's education history starts with their high school diploma from Tewksbury Memorial High School, where they graduated as the valedictorian in 2019. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology from the same university, completing their studies in 2023.

Brooke completed the "Responsible Conduct of Research for Engineers" certification from the CITI Program, a division of BRANY, in February 2021. Brooke also obtained certifications in lab chemical safety, biosafety, OSHA bloodborne pathogens, OSHA personal protective equipment training, and training for handling biohazards from the CITI Program throughout 2020 and 2022.
