Derek Sawkins

Derek Sawkins has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Derek is currently serving as the Executive Vice President of Strategy & Investments at Carbon Streaming Corporation since October 2021. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at INVIDI Technologies, including Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, and Senior Director of Corporate Development and Strategy. At INVIDI, they played a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategy, identifying industry trends, managing business relationships, and executing partnerships internationally. Before their tenure at INVIDI, Derek worked as a Senior Director at Capital Now Financial starting in 2013. In 2009, they served as the Program Director & Past President at TEDxVancouver, where they directed organizational strategy and development, leading a team of over 60 committee members and 100 volunteers. Derek's early career included roles as an Associate at Tricor Pacific Capital Inc. and as an Investment Banking Associate and Analyst at National Bank Financial. Additionally, they co-founded a cleantech start-up called Energy Aware, where they oversaw team recruitment and product development. Overall, Derek Sawkins brings a wealth of experience in strategy, business development, financial analysis, and leadership.

Derek Sawkins attended The University of British Columbia from 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a specialization in Finance (Honours).
