Carbon Upcycling
Jiaxin (Sara) Xu is a skilled Process Engineer currently engaged in R&D at Carbon Upcycling Technologies since November 2024. Previously, as a Research Scientist at SepPure Technologies from March 2023 to October 2024, Jiaxin successfully developed innovative membrane products that replaced traditional extraction and solvent recovery processes in the oil industry. Jiaxin's academic background includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship and Co-op Supervisor role at the University of Waterloo, where mentorship was provided to over 10 undergraduate and graduate research students, alongside serving as a Teaching Assistant for a 4th year undergraduate chemical engineering course. Jiaxin holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Nanotechnology and Water from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree combining Chemical and Software Engineering from Dalian Jiaotong University.
