Justin started their career as a Junior Research and Development Engineer at XinRay Systems LLC, where they were involved in product development, electronics testing, vacuum system design, and parts manufacturing. Justin then worked at TechShop, Inc. as a Course Instructor, teaching courses on introductory milling and lathe for the metal shop.

Justin then joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Research Scientist in Optics and Systems Design. Justin played a key role in designing and constructing a two-photon laser microscope with high spatial and time resolution. Justin also served as a Lecturer in Computational Chemistry, teaching a course on simulating gases at the molecular level.

Later, Justin worked at Intel Corporation as a Senior Process Engineer, monitoring fabrication processes, troubleshooting issues, and conducting experiments to improve lithographic mask processing. Justin then joined Nano Precision Medical as a Senior Research and Development Engineer, leading the development of a miniature implantable device for Type 2 diabetes treatment. Justin successfully led the laser welding process development, resulting in high manufacturing yield. Justin was later promoted to Manager, Advanced Projects Engineering.

Justin then worked as an R&D Engineering Consultant, providing product development engineering expertise to clients. Justin'sresponsibilities included research and development, IP development, and product design using CAD and rapid prototyping techniques.

Most recently, Justin worked at CelLink Corporation as a Senior Process Development Engineer, where they developed software for real-time tracking and visualization of production processes. Justin also built scripting tools for automated analysis of circuit features and architected a C# library for enhanced control of process parameters and future expansion.

Currently, Justin is working at Carbon as a Staff Print Software Engineer.

Justin Kirschbrown attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2001 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics. Following this, they pursued higher education at the same institution from 2008 to 2013, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Science and Engineering.
