Altug Ekici

Altug Ekici is a carbon removal expert and supply manager at Carbonfuture since January 2023, focusing on biochar methodologies and various carbon removal technologies. Previously, Altug served as a Nature-based Solutions Research Associate at IUCN, where responsibilities included building an integrated certification scheme and providing research analysis for climate projects. Experience also includes roles as a climate hazard modeler at RMS, postdoctoral carbon researcher at both the University of Bern and NORCE, and associate climate research fellow at the University of Exeter, among others. Altug holds a PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences from Université de Fribourg and possesses a Master's degree in Geology and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
