Vivek Krishna, PhD, SMBA has a diverse work experience in the fields of research and development, project leadership, and postdoctoral research.

Vivek is currently a Project Lead at CardiAI.Inc, where they report to the CEO and VP for Research and Innovation. In this role, they successfully led a project focused on direct sample to detection RT-LAMP, excluding genomic extractions. Vivek also developed rapid point of care antigen-based devices for cardiac biomarkers.

Prior to their current role, Vivek worked as a Research and Development Scientist at BioAro Inc., a sister concern of CardiAI.Inc. There, they focused on next-generation sequencing for early cancer prediction and drug re-purposing.

In terms of their academic background, Vivek served as a Mitacs Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary. During their time there, they gained strong knowledge in chronic inflammatory disease biology and successfully executed multiple projects. Vivek also worked with DSS models of colitis and developed expertise in preclinical models of myocardial infarction.

Vivek also held the position of Eyes High Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary, where they identified the role of heat shock proteins (HSPB1) in the hardening of arteries. Vivek developed and customized protocols for western blot and multiplex ELISA assays for tissue and plasma samples.

Additionally, Vivek worked as a Research and Development Scientist at CardiAI.Inc, where they focused on the development of LAMP-based and LFA-based approaches for SARS-CoV2.
