Vivek Krishna, PhD, SMBA has a diverse work experience in the fields of research and development, project leadership, and postdoctoral research.
Vivek is currently a Project Lead at CardiAI.Inc, where they report to the CEO and VP for Research and Innovation. In this role, they successfully led a project focused on direct sample to detection RT-LAMP, excluding genomic extractions. Vivek also developed rapid point of care antigen-based devices for cardiac biomarkers.
Prior to their current role, Vivek worked as a Research and Development Scientist at BioAro Inc., a sister concern of CardiAI.Inc. There, they focused on next-generation sequencing for early cancer prediction and drug re-purposing.
In terms of their academic background, Vivek served as a Mitacs Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary. During their time there, they gained strong knowledge in chronic inflammatory disease biology and successfully executed multiple projects. Vivek also worked with DSS models of colitis and developed expertise in preclinical models of myocardial infarction.
Vivek also held the position of Eyes High Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary, where they identified the role of heat shock proteins (HSPB1) in the hardening of arteries. Vivek developed and customized protocols for western blot and multiplex ELISA assays for tissue and plasma samples.
Additionally, Vivek worked as a Research and Development Scientist at CardiAI.Inc, where they focused on the development of LAMP-based and LFA-based approaches for SARS-CoV2. Vivek demonstrated excellent knowledge of FDA and HC guidelines and conducted studies on LOD determination, analytical sensitivity, cross-reactivity, and interference.
Prior to their work in Canada, Vivek served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Central Florida.
Overall, Vivek Krishna, PhD, SMBA has a strong background in research and development, project leadership, and postdoctoral research, with expertise in areas such as chronic inflammatory disease biology, cardiac biomarkers, and SARS-CoV2 detection methods.
Vivek Krishna, PhD, SMBA has a diverse education history. Vivek started with a Specialisation title in Molecular Biology from Università degli Studi di Milano (University of Milan) in 2009. Vivek then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Hypertension from Università degli Studi 'Gabriele d'Annunzio' di Chieti, in association with the University of Milan, from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, Vivek completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology from Mahatma Gandhi University between 2006 and 2008. Their educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2006.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Vivek has also obtained several certifications. Vivek completed a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Online Course from the United States Pharmacopeia in March 2022. In November 2019, they obtained a certificate for completing the Python for Genomic Data Science course offered by Johns Hopkins University on Coursera. In June 2019, they received industry training from Cheeky Scientist, and in May 2019, they completed a course on developing teaching dossiers for postdoctoral fellows at the University of Calgary. Additionally, Vivek has had their international academic qualifications verified by the World Education Services. Vivek also holds a Scientist MBA certification from Cheeky Scientist, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
