Alison McSorley (BACP Accred. FHEA) has a diverse work experience. Alison started their career in 1991 at Molson Coors Beverage/Bass Brewers, where they held various marketing and sales roles until 2001. In 2012, they joined the Vale of Glamorgan Council as an Adult Education Teacher, teaching Counselling Skills courses and developing qualifications related to managing family-related stress, confidence building, and assertiveness. Alison worked with partner organizations such as Flying Start Communities First and Job Centre Plus during their time there. In 2015, they began working as a Counsellor in private practice, specializing in issues related to domestic abuse and providing support for concerns like depression, loss, bereavement, motivation, relationships, and work-related issues. Additionally, since 2015, they have been a Lecturer at Cardiff and Vale College, teaching modules on youth and social care within the University of South Wales franchised degree program. Alison also serves as a Counselling Tutor at the college.

Alison McSorley (BACP Accred. FHEA) has a diverse education history. Starting in 1988, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Birmingham, where they studied from 1988 to 1991. Subsequently, they pursued further education in the field of counseling, first completing an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from CPCAB. Additionally, Alison obtained a Foundation Degree in Counselling from The Open University. Moving on to their postgraduate studies, they attended the University of South Wales from 2015 to 2017 to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education. Lastly, in 2019 to 2020, Alison engaged in further professional development by completing a Fellowship program at Advance HE.
