Gavin Price

Gavin Price has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Gavin started their career as a Production Engineer at BICC Transmitton, where they were responsible for testing and repairing digital and analogue equipment. Gavin then moved on to become an Application Engineer, involved in designing, developing, and servicing systems for customers. Later, they served as a Project Engineer, managing projects for customers in the oil industry and handling the design and construction of hardware and software.

In 1993, Gavin joined Merthyr Tydfil College as an IT Lecturer, specializing in teaching BTEC qualifications and focusing on networks, communications, and computer hardware. Gavin also became a Microsoft Certified Trainer and delivered Server and Workstation Administration courses to local businesses. Additionally, they took on the role of Computer Support Officer during this time.

Gavin's next venture was at Cardiff and Vale College in 2012. Gavin served as a Programme Area Leader for Business and Retail, responsible for managing staff and overseeing marketing activities, resource and quality management, and external liaison with employers and the Welsh Government. Gavin played a significant role in curriculum development, timetabling, student admissions, and educational guidance, among other administrative tasks.

In 2016, Gavin became the Deputy Head of Automotive and Engineering at Cardiff and Vale College, further expanding their leadership responsibilities. This role required their expertise in managing staff and curriculum development.

Throughout their career, Gavin has demonstrated strong knowledge in IT, teaching, curriculum development, management, and leadership.

Gavin Price's education history is as follows:

Gavin Price attended St. John Baptist Church in Wales Comprehensive in Aberdare from 1978 to 1984, although no degree or field of study is indicated for this period.

From 1984 to 1986, Gavin Price pursued an OND in Electronics at Pontypridd Technical College.

Following that, they completed a HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Polytechnic of Wales from 1986 to 1988.

Gavin Price then pursued a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology at the University of South Wales from 1991 to 1993.

Finally, they attended the University of Wales from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in Education.

Additionally, Gavin Price has obtained several certifications throughout their career:

- In 1999, they became a Microsoft Certified Trainer through Microsoft.

- In 2005, Gavin Price obtained the A+ certification from CompTIA.

- In 2006, they earned a Level 2 Certificate for Adult Learner Support from City and Guilds.

- In 2008, Gavin Price completed the Key Skills Professional Development (KSPD) program offered by the Welsh Government.

- In 2011, they obtained the Accredited Learning Coach certification from the Welsh Government.
