Hugh Griffiths has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Hugh is currently the Director of MA International Public Relations and Global Communications at Cardiff University, where they also serve as a Lecturer and a Co-chair and board member of Cardiff University Press. Additionally, they work as an Associate Lecturer on the MA Political Communication program and provides brand consultancy services.
In the past, Hugh has worked for Care for the Family as the Lead Manager of Public Engagement and Digital Engagement, overseeing strategic communications and brand management. Hugh has also served as a Research Associate at The Do Lectures and as a Visiting Lecturer at Leeds Trinity University College, teaching strategic branding and conducting research at the masters level. Prior to that, they worked for HM Land Registry as a National Brand Manager and Development and Training Manager, responsible for brand management and staff learning and development. Lastly, they were a Founder Member of the Brand Practitioner Network at the Government Communication Service.
Hugh Griffiths completed their PhD in Strategic brand communication and digital media at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained an MA in Public Communications from Leeds Trinity University in 2009-2010. In addition, they have certifications including Senior Fellow from the Higher Education Academy, Accredited practitioner from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and membership in PRCA.
