Mouhamad Aboshokor

Mouhamad AboShokor is a skilled data scientist with extensive experience in digital transformation and text analytics. Currently employed at Cardiff University since May 2023, Mouhamad previously worked at Medicines Discovery Catapult, focusing on information extraction and the development of NLP pipelines for medical data. Additional roles include serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Damascus University, where course materials were prepared and practical components of Natural Language Processing and Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence were taught. As a Machine Learning Engineer at almeta.io, projects involving web safety and NLP applications were undertaken, and contributions to building the first general-purpose Arabic search engine were made during time at Lableb. Mouhamad holds a Master of Science in Speech and Language Processing from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Damascus University.
