Tamayo Hussey

PHD Student at Cardiff University

Tamayo Hussey is a PhD student at Cardiff University, funded by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, with a robust background in translation and interpreting. Since September 2021, Tamayo has worked as a freelance translator and a Japanese interpreter for D A Languages Ltd and Language Services UK Limited. Previous roles include Quality Assurance Manager at Beacon Communications, Japanese Translator for the Project: Yoshin, and various translation positions at Firing Line: The Museum of The Queen’s Dragoon Guards and Cardiff University. In addition to academic qualifications, including a PhD in Translation Studies and an MA in Translation Studies from Cardiff University, Tamayo received recognition as the winner of the 2019 J-Net Translation Competition for novice translators.
