Karen Larimer PhD, ACNP-BC, FAHA, FPCNA

Karen Larimer, PhD, ACNP-BC, FAHA, FPCNA has an extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Karen is currently the Clinical Operations Lead at Cardiosense, a digital health company focused on combatting heart disease using novel multi-sensor devices and artificial intelligence. In this role, Karen is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive clinical strategy to develop and validate noninvasive hemodynamic algorithms.

Prior to their current position, Karen served as the Vice President of Clinical Development at physIQ. Karen played a crucial role in ensuring the successful adoption and implementation of the physIQ solution by healthcare customers. Karen also built relationships with clinical partners, key opinion leaders, and customers to showcase the clinical and economic efficacy of the solution. Additionally, Karen supported sales efforts through strategy development, product insights, and customer relationship management.

Before joining physIQ, Karen worked as the Director of Clinical Development at the same company. During their tenure, they wrote research proposals and protocols, including grant applications. One of their notable achievements was leading a study to develop a biomarker for COVID-19 decompensation, which received a $6 million grant.

Karen's academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at DePaul University's School of Nursing. Karen taught various courses and spearheaded the development and implementation of a community-based service learning program, which facilitated nursing students' learning from community organizations in a structured and outcome-driven manner.

Additionally, Karen worked as a Consultant at Endotronix, Inc., where they applied a heart failure Care Platform to improve the satisfaction and efficacy of the heart failure management team. Karen was involved in the development of a proactive heart failure management sensor.

Earlier in their career, Karen served as the Director of Research at the Midwest Heart Foundation.

Karen later pursued their doctoral degree in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago. Karen also holds a Bachelor's degree in English/Political Science from Vanderbilt University.
