Michael Spelfogel

Co-Founder & President at Cardless

Michael Spelfogel is the Co-Founder and President of Cardless. Prior to their current role, Spelfogel worked as a data scientist for Lyft and Rent The Runway. Michael also spent time in commercial card management for Visa.

Spelfogel has always been interested in data and its potential to improve customer experiences. At Lyft, they focused on building technical models to improve ETA and location accuracy in order to increase user retention and positive customer experiences. Michael also created a robust traffic monitoring system to predict speeds and routes for millions of vehicles.

At Rent The Runway, Spelfogel used data to help optimize the company's inventory and merchandising decisions. Michael also built algorithms to diagnose cellular location latency in driver and passenger devices.

Spelfogel's experience in data science has helped him build Cardless into a successful company that is changing the way people think about credit cards.

Michael Spelfogel has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a degree in Computer Science from the same school. Michael also attended Peking University. Michael has an International Baccalaureate Diploma from South Side High School, where they were Salutatorian.
