Stan Curtis has had a diverse work experience spanning several companies over the years. Stan co-founded OPENcommons :: URBAN.systems in 2005, where they served as the co-founder and VP of Platform Development. At this company, they were involved in various projects related to urban development and sustainability. In 2009, they joined People Power as the VP of Business Development, contributing to the success of this award-winning Silicon Valley startup. In 2010, they joined IBM, focusing on Smarter Cities, People Systems, and Service-Science. During their time at IBM, they worked on initiatives such as "Making EcoDistricts" and collaborated with research partners from various cities around the world. Prior to these roles, Stan worked at Accenture as a Senior Manager and Research Fellow, specializing in Natural Resources practice development. Stan also co-founded Gold Hill Computers in 1983, where they served as the VP of Business Development.

Stan Curtis attended the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied Operations Research. Prior to their time at Berkeley, they also attended the University of Idaho.
