Charles Young

Charles Young is the current Non Executive Director at Care Visions, and has been in this role since January 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Operations for Children's Services at Care Visions from January 2017 to January 2020. In this role, they oversaw Care Visions Residential and Care Visions Fostering. Charles also served as the Head of Service Delivery at Care Visions from January 2017 to January 2020, where they were responsible for the executive management of Care Visions fostering, Care Visions Residential, and Care Visions Why Not? On Love the Stigma workstreams for the Independent care review.

Charles Young began their career in corporate services management at Moore House Care & Education in November 2015, before being promoted to Senior Manager in April 2011. Charles remained in this role until November 2015 when they left to join Care Visions.

Throughout their career, Charles Young has been an active member of various committees and boards, including the operational steering group of The Why Not? Trust, Children & Families committee within Social Work Scotland, and Policy Advisory group for Scottish Throughcare and Aftercare Forum (STAF). Charles is also a board member for National Association of Fostering Providers (NAFP).

Charles Young has a postgraduate diploma in advanced residential child care from the University of Strathclyde, a CIPD in PDS L&D electives from M.O.L., a DIPSW in social work from Northern College of Education, and a Dip Com Ed in community education from Northern College of Education. Charles also has training in taekwondo from St Johns Taekwondo Club.
