Steve Russek is currently a Technical Advisor at CareBand. Prior to this, they were a UX/UI Design and Marketing at Coyfish from June 2021 to September 2021. There, they worked with the UI/UX team to wireframe and create a prototype for the mobile app, performed user testing and implemented changes to the prototype from feedback, generated branding guidelines, identified user personas, and created content for social media platforms.
Before Coyfish, Steve was a NIH Research Fellow at The National Institutes of Health from July 2020 to July 2021. There, they created clinical case studies in collaboration with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) on the “Before and After COVID-19: Mental Health Impact on those with and without Mental Illness” nationwide study, presented “Using Machine Learning to Quantify Pain-related Facial Expressions” research project during NIH Poster Day, and monitored, screened, and ran patients in the pain expression and assessment study at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center.
Steve Russek is a Northwestern University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Bioethics. Steve also studied abroad at UNSW and is certified from the CITI Program in Social/Behavioral Researchers. Before Northwestern, they attended Northside College Preparatory High School and Swarthmore College where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Vietnamese Language and Literature, respectively.
