Gaurav Laroia has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Gaurav began their career at McKinsey & Company as a Consultant, where they worked from August 2000 to September 2003. After that, they joined Sanofi as a Senior Principal Specialist in Alliance Management, from November 2003 to December 2004, and later became the Director of Discovery Research Board and Alliance Management from January 2005 to June 2007.
In 2007, Gaurav joined Merck as the New Products Leader for Ophthalmology in Global Marketing, where they worked from July 2007 to October 2008. Gaurav then became the Business Development Director from November 2008 to December 2010 and ultimately an Executive Director of Specialty and Hospitals from January 2011 to March 2015.
From September 2015 to April 2017, Gaurav worked at Roche as the Business Unit Director for Oncology. Gaurav then transitioned to the role of Head of Strategic Initiatives Office in the Project Management Office for APAC from May 2017 to December 2018. Finally, they served as the Country General Manager for Roche Diabetes Care in India from January 2019 to June 2019.
After their time at Roche, Gaurav joined Biocon Biologics in July 2019 as the Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, and Head of Business Development. Gaurav held this position until March 2021.
In 2021, Gaurav took on multiple advisory roles. Gaurav joined CareCentra as the Chief Strategy Officer for Business and Platform Strategy and also became an Advisor. Additionally, they became a member of the Strategic Advisory Board at Mobio Interactive.
Throughout their career, Gaurav Laroia has demonstrated expertise in strategy, business development, and alliance management across various companies in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
Gaurav Laroia has a strong educational background in the field of science and biology. Gaurav completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry at St. Stephen's College, Delhi from 1990 to 1993. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Genetics at the University of Cambridge as a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Fellow from 1993 to 1995. During this time, Gaurav made significant contributions to the field, and their thesis was published in Science magazine. Gaurav then went on to complete their PhD in Molecular Biology at New York University from 1995 to 1999. Gaurav's research and educational achievements demonstrate their expertise and passion for scientific advancement. In addition to their academic qualifications, Gaurav has obtained various certifications in finance, business management, and leadership development from esteemed institutions such as New York University, Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, McKinsey & Company, and Harvard Law School Executive Education.
