Alexander Mavroukakis

Alexander Mavroukakis currently serves as the Director of Procurement and Sourcing at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, a position held since April 2025. Prior to this role, Alexander was the Division Director of Procurement at USAID from March 2021 to April 2025, overseeing a portfolio exceeding $4 billion and leading a team of 38 professionals in procurement and contract management. Alexander also acted as the Deputy Director for Washington Operations at USAID, managing a large-scale operation with 225 team members. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Procurement Analyst at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, focusing on Industry-Government relations, and holding various contracting positions at the U.S. Department of State. Alexander holds a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of Maryland.
