Brian Geesaman

Brian Geesaman, MA has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Brian is currently working as the Chief Compliance Officer at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield since February 2022. Previously, they served as the President and Broker in Charge at BG Coastal Real Estate Company starting from May 2020.

From 2014 to 2020, Brian worked at AmeriHealth Caritas as the Chief Compliance Officer. During this time, they provided strategic direction and leadership for compliance-related activities and managed contracted services. Brian developed and implemented a Corporate Compliance Plan to ensure compliance with Federal and District laws and established effective internal controls and risk management programs. Brian also designed a program to reduce and remediate fraud, waste, and abuse of healthcare services.

Before that, Brian worked as a REALTOR® at Coldwell Banker Chicora Real Estate from April 2012 to May 2018. Brian also held positions at Catalyst Health Solutions, Inc. as a Regulatory & Learning Strategies Manager from November 2011 to May 2012, and as a Regulatory Advisor and Compliance & Quality Management Analyst at Catalyst Health Solutions from July 2009 to November 2011.

Brian's earlier experience includes working as a Program Supervisor at TheraCom, a CVS/Caremark Company, from April 2008 to June 2009. Brian also served as the Compliance & Ethics Manager at BlueCross BlueShield of SC from September 1997 to April 2008. In this role, they administered the compliance and ethics program for PGBA, LLC, a government programs subsidiary responsible for administering TRICARE, a military health program.

Brian Geesaman, MA, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Coastal Carolina University, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. Brian furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Management & Human Resources Development at Webster University from 2004 to 2005. In addition to their academic credentials, Brian Geesaman received the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) in December 2016.
