San SunOwen has a diverse work experience history. They started their career in 2009 as a Field Organizer for The DC Project. They also worked as a Grassroots Organizing Weekend (GROW) Trainer and an Electoral Action Training (EAT) Trainer for the United States Student Association, providing workshops and trainings to develop student leaders. In 2010, San worked as a Business Associate II for Hewlett-Packard, providing support for a team of engineers and technicians. They also gained experience as a Kitchen Staff member at Market of Choice. From 2012 to 2014, San worked for Camp Fire Columbia, first as a High School Site Instructor and later as a High School Program Assistant. They then returned to Hewlett-Packard in 2014 as a Research & Design Test Technician. In 2015, San joined CareOregon as a Give2Get Program Coordinator, responsible for member recruitment and engagement. They later took on roles such as Ancillary Services Program Specialist and Strategic Business Partnerships Manager. Currently, San holds the position of Director, Transportation & Strategic Partnerships at CareOregon.

San SunOwen received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Ethnic Studies from the University of Oregon from 2005 to 2009. Later, from 2012 to 2015, San pursued a Masters degree in Public Administration, with a focus on Human Resources and Labor Relations, from Portland State University.
