Juan Francisco Mackenna is a partner at Carey, leading the Energy group since April 1997. Mackenna served as a member of the Board of Directors for ACERA AG. and was the founder and former vice president of Apymep. Mackenna held the position of past chairman of the Cámara de Comercio Chileno-Australiana from 2010 to 2016 and is now an honorary lifetime member of the board. Additionally, Mackenna was an invited professor at the Universidad Externado de Colombia and past president of the International Bar Association's Energy Committee. Previous experience includes roles at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Robeco Group, Bechtel Corporation, and Banco de Chile. Education includes a Law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, an LL.M. from Duke University, and completion of a negotiation course at Harvard Law School.
