Amienata Fatajo

Amienata Fatajo has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2019, they worked as a Youth Advocate at Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!), where they collaborated with elected officials and experts to analyze policies and advocate for new legislation. They also conducted workshops on advocacy skills and racial equity for youth across the country. In 2020, Amienata worked as an Electoral Organizer at Lead Locally and as an El Pueblo Census Ambassador at El Pueblo, Inc. In 2021, they worked as a Freelance Photographer at In the Click Photobooth, managing photo booths and facilitating photo printing during events. In 2022, they served as an Independent Student Researcher at Stories to Save Lives-Southern Oral History Project, and as a Political Organizer at The New North Carolina Project. They also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Gupton Lab in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where they recorded data and prepared sample solutions for the lab. In 2022, they worked as a Home Care Provider at CareYaya, and currently, in 2023, they are a General Member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. Amienata Fatajo is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government and another BA degree in Medical Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Amienata commenced their studies in 2021 and is expected to complete them in 2025. Prior to their enrollment at UNC, Amienata pursued Dual Enrollment in Pre-Law Studies at Saint Augustine's University from 2020 to 2021. There is no available information regarding their education before attending Saint Augustine's University. Additionally, Amienata has obtained several certifications, including CPR & AED from UNC Campus EMS in October 2022, Gillings on the Ground Disaster Response Certification from UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in February 2022, GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs, Biologics and Devices Course from the CITI Program in August 2022, and Group 2 Social and Behavioral Research certification from the CITI Program in August 2022.
