Teresia Maina

Teresia Maina is a highly skilled professional in the fields of immunology and vaccine development, currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Cargill since October 2022. Teresia's extensive experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Iowa State University, where work focused on vaccine development, trained immunity, and respiratory infections. Prior to that, Teresia completed a PhD at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization - International Vaccine Centre, concentrating on immunology and infectious diseases. Additional research experience includes work as a Research Technician at the International Livestock Research Institute and the Kenya Medical Research Institute, emphasizing immunology and antimicrobial resistance. Teresia holds a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and a Bachelor's degree in Medical Microbiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
