Gina Simmons Chapman

Gina Simmons Chapman has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Gina Simmons is currently serving as the President & Chief Executive Officer at CARGO Therapeutics, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they held various leadership roles at Genentech, including Senior Vice President and Business Unit Head for Specialty and Chronic Care, where they oversaw the successful launches of Tecentriq and Phesgo. Gina Simmons also served as the Vice President for various divisions, including Avastin/Herceptin/Rituxan and US Head of Hemophilia. Gina has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record of delivering results, exceeding expectations, and driving revenue growth. Their earlier career includes marketing and sales roles at Gilead Sciences and market research at Syntex Laboratories.

Gina Simmons Chapman attended UC Santa Barbara from 1985 to 1989, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with Honors in Economics and Sociology.
