Valerie Poire

Valerie Poire is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Director of Communications & Corporate Affairs at the Caribbean Development Bank since January 2024, overseeing corporate communications, CSR, events, and stakeholder relations. Previously, Valerie held the position of Senior Manager of Communications at CGIAR from May 2018 to December 2023 and was Team Leader for Editorial and Multimedia Services at CIFOR from October 2016 to May 2018. Other roles include Communication Officer for the Humidtropics program at IITA, Senior Communications Advisor for USAID, and Senior Communication Expert at CowaterSogema. Valerie's career also includes positions at Pixcom Inc, CSD, Sobeys, and GPC International, showcasing a robust background in strategic communication and management across various sectors. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. ABD, a Master's, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from UQAM, along with certificates from the United Nations.
