Ray Wood is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the biotechnology and clean technology sectors. Currently serving as the Director at Carina Biotech since June 2016, Ray leads initiatives focused on developing novel CART cell therapies for solid tumors. Ray has also acted as an Independent Director at the Victorian Clean Technology Fund since 2002, overseeing a $30 million venture fund dedicated to translating scientific discoveries into commercial applications. Additionally, Ray holds the position of Director Principal at Irendos Pty Ltd, providing consulting services in technology transfer and startups. Ray was the Chairperson of Cure Cell NFP from August 2020 to January 2024, working to support PhD students in cell therapy. Previously, Ray served as a Non-Executive Director at the CRC for Cell Therapy Manufacturing and co-founded Cell Therapies Pty Ltd, a specialist contract manufacturer in cell and tissue therapies. Carina Biotech An Australian clinical stage immunotherapy company established to research and develop chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapies to treat solid cancers.
