Mohammed Elshamy

Mohammed Elshamy, MD, currently serves as a Bariatric & General Surgeon at Carle Health and holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at Carle Illinois College of Medicine, both since September and December 2023, respectively. Prior to these roles, Mohammed Elshamy completed a fellowship in Bariatric, Foregut, and Advanced Gastrointestinal Minimally Invasive Surgery at Stony Brook Medicine from August 2022 to July 2023. Mohammed Elshamy's experience at Cleveland Clinic spanned from August 2014 to July 2022, during which time Mohammed worked as a Clinical Associate in Endocrine Surgery, a Resident in General Surgery, and a Research Fellow in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation. Mohammed Elshamy began medical training with a Rotating Internship at Ain Shams University from March 2013 to March 2014, after obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Ain Shams University in 2014. Earlier in career, Mohammed Elshamy served as Administration Manager at the Better World Foundation NGO from March 2011 to December 2012 and completed secondary education at Port Said Experimental Language School in 2005.
