Currently serving as an Administrative Assistant and Secretary for Curriculum and Instruction at Carlsbad Municipal Schools since March 2021, Felina previously worked as an Instructional Assistant and has held various roles including Caregiver for a private family, Tax Preparer at Liberty Tax, and Bookkeeper at Caremore Construction. Additionally, Felina has a history of providing childcare as a nanny and has experience in substitute teaching. Felina’s educational qualifications include an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education from New Mexico State University and an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts from Central New Mexico Community College.

Carlsbad Municipal Schools is seeking dedicated educators to challenge and inspire students to develop the skills and aptitudes necessary to make a living, succeed in a post-secondary education, and positively impact their world. Carlsbad Schools does offer hiring incentives up to $20,000 based on experience. Relocation expenses are also offered based on mileage. At Carlsbad Schools we offer mentor programs for incoming teachers to help support them during their first year, complete dossier for leveling up as well as OPAL for alternative licensure. Teacher housing is available on a first come, first serve basis. We will be implementing Opportunity Culture during the 23-24 school year to better provide our teachers with mentoring and offer students a quality education.
